Singita Sabora Tented Camp - The Facts
SIngita Sabora is located in the private Grumeti Reseve, which is an exclusive game reserve attached to the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. There are only 3 properties in this whole game reserve - all owned by Singita - a world class
Tanzania safari company. It is possible to access the 3 properties in the reserve from Sasakwa airstrip and there are schedule flights from all over the North of Tanzania and Dar es Salaam.
The main area of the lodge is raised on a wooden platform, with tented dining areas and lounges packed with beautiful antique furniture. At the front is a large veranda with views as far as you can see across the Sabora plains and an area which is ideal for meals under the stars. There is a small swimming pool off to the side of the lodge.
The spacious guest tents are spread out with views onto the plains and decorated to the highest standard offering a very luxurious tented safari experience. The rooms are air conditioned with electricity and spacious bathrooms.
The Grumeti Reserve offers exclusive game viewing within the reserve in open sided vehicles. There is also walking safari upon request as well as excellent horse riding safaris. Off roading is also permitted allowing you to follow the wildlife through their natural habitat for the best photographic opportunities. Within the reserve Singita also offer a mobile luxury camping

Whilst visiting Singita in their Grumeti concession, it may also be a great idea to combine a camp here with a camp in the National Park itself (Singita Mara maybe?). With the migration moving throughout the year, the Grumeti region only sees the wildebeest arrive in June and leave by the middle of July meaning your window of opportunity is small. If however you are planning on visiting at another time of year, combining Singita Sabora with another camp would give you a brilliant experience.
The herds congregate on the Ndutu Plains from November through to March where an intense three weeks of calving occurs in February. From here the wildebeest travel North through the Seronera and Grumeti regions before arriving in Kogatende in July. Whilst Singita have their own property in the North,
Singita Mara, which is perfect for witnessing the awe-inspiring crossings seen in documentaries, the National Park does have restrictions on off-roading and it can become busy. That's why combining a National Park camp with a Singita lodge located in their private concession will give you a great blend of the wildebeest migration and exclusive and intimate sightings without too many restrictions.
