This is a beautiful hotel that has a very personal feel to it and a great location in the park. It has the edge on other hotels of its size, as the small huts allow for a real sense of privacy and feeling of being out in the bush. It is a perfect place to spend a few days year round, but particularly during the migration months of May through to July.

Serengeti Serena Lodge - The Facts

The Serengeti Serena is located in the Seronera area of the central Serengeti about a 20 minute drive from the Seronera airstrip. The Seronera airstrip is about a two hour flight from Arusha and about four hours from Dar es Salaam depending on what route you take.

The rooms feel very private, with just three extremely spacious and comfortable rooms in each cottage-like chalet and most have good, uninterrupted views across the surrounding Serengeti plains. There is one room built into the roof of the cottage and two on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious and all have well equipped and modern bathrooms, classic Tanzania safari lodges.

There are good views from the central dining room and the separate cosy bar, both of which are arranged slightly higher on the hill beneath impressively lofty makuti thatch. These are just a stones throw from the Serengeti Serena's crowning feature, a magnificently situated drop-off pool surrounded by shady tree and sun beds set out in private areas. The restaurant is notably good, with fantastic buffets and much of the food cooked before your eyes in the open kitchen.

The management and staff are friendly and attentive, and can arrange for numerous extras, such as flowers, fruit and champagne to greet guests on arrival, the perfect start to any Tanzania safari holiday.
