Fumba Beach Lodge is on the west coast of Zanzibar and in close proximity to Stone Town. It’s a nice beach lodge with a nice main area and swimming pool. The gardens are especially colourful and impressive. Unfortunately the beach at Fumba is just not as good as others on Zanzibar. We would definitely advise that guests opt for a suite as they have good access to the sea.
Fumba Beach Lodge - The Facts
This lodge is situated on the west coast of
Zanzibar, just south of the islands capital –
Stone Town.
As you drive into this secluded beach lodge you are welcomed by a garden of exotic and impressive flowers. The main area is actually really nice and peaceful. The infinity pool is surrounded by a comfortable lounge area just on the tip of their beach.
The rooms are split either side and are large and spacious. They are very comfortable and have a nice veranda out front as well as a roof terrace. They are all very private and are a hop and a skip from the beach itself. Unfortunately the beach at Fumba is not as impressive as it is on other parts of the island but its fine for a quick swim. They do however, have a very well equipped dive centre and the snorkelling is very good..
The restaurant is not the best on Zanzibar but it does try and cater for everyone.
The lodge in general is not that bad at all but we do think that there are better places on the island for
honeymoons at a similar price .
