This is a good hotel for the younger crowd looking for a bit of nightlife, coupled with a very good beach although you could be hassled by ‘beach boys’. It’s in the centre of the busy village of Nungwi and attracts the young European market looking for inexpensive fun and a party. Credit to the hotel, it has great rooms and a relatively good restaurant but the location, good beach or not, it is very busy and difficult to find your own space.
The Z Hotel - The Facts
The Z Hotel is located in Nungwi village which is in the north of the island of
Zanzibar, only an hour’s drive from the airport and Stone Town. Zanzibar is only a 20 minute flight from Dar es Salaam.
The main area of the hotel are built around the swimming pool area. So the rooms, restaurant and reception are built around this main focal point of the hotel. The restaurant actually has stunning views over a lovely beach and this is one one of Zanzibar’s best beaches, perfecct for a
Tanzania family holiday. The pool is the dominant feature with a rather happening bar that looks out over the beach. There is a TV room and children’s play room in by the main reception.
The rooms are built up in blocks, almost stacked on top of each other. There are various room types but all of them are quite nice. They also have TV’s, plus mosquito nets, modern bathrooms and air conditioning in all the rooms. All the activities can be arranged from the reception and there is also an activities centre for snorkelling and diving.
