Matemwe Retreat Asilia - The Details
This retreat consists of three very exclusive and luxurious villas on the north-eastern side of
Zanzibar. They are placed up above the Matemwe village (with their sister lodge Matemwe Bungalows) in an area of secluded, un-touched shrub. They offer beautiful views over the pristine beaches, the azure Indian Ocean and the beautiful island of Mnemba.
Each retreat is incredibly luxurious and provides their guests with every comfort they could ask for on a
Tanzanian holiday or
honeymoon. The villas consist of two floors with the ground floor being the bedroom and bathroom area. They also have a veranda area out at the front comes with its own bar. The bedrooms come complete with enormous four poster beds big enough for an elephant on honeymoon! The bathrooms are beautiful and spacious with baths that can open up to take in the incredible view.
The roof terrace is the real star selling point. It offers incredible panoramic views of the surrounding area with a lovely infinity plunge pool that is the most amazing place to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Each villa has its own private butler who is there to provide the guests with everything they could want. There is no restaurant area as guests are encouraged to eat in the privacy of their villa with their own personalised menus. The restaurant at Matemwe Bungalows is available should any couple require company!
