Wayo Manyara Green Camp - The Facts
As with all Wayo Camps, location is key to achieving the best experience. Set beneath the cascading Endabash Waterfall, the camp sits on the edges of the dry riverbed, nestled into the forests that are synonymous with Manyara. Away from any other camp, it offers the most peaceful way to begin (or finish) a Northern Tanzania safari.
Comprising of eight spacious and elegant tents, each room is on raised decking and is furnished in simple luxuries, providing everything one could wish for, but without being over the top. En-suite bathrooms are equipped with bucket showers and flushing toilets.
The beauty of the camp is again its location. With the main mess area overlooking the dry river bed, you can watch each day as elephants gather at the base of the waterfall, making the most of the few water sources in the region.
Game viewing shouldn’t be your sole purpose of visiting Manyara, it does not have the density of some of the other Northern Parks. And aside from your normal game drives, Wayo Manyara can offer night drives, canoe safaris on Lake Manyara itself and a tree-top walk. Further walking can be enjoyed along the lake’s shore or for the really adventurous, a full-day hike up the rift valley. Even en-route to camp, mountain biking or tuk tuk rides through the villages are all possible and add to an experience.
