Our View

This is a great hotel. Zanzibar Palace Hotel is a nine room boutique hotel in which Zanzibar's rich history is integrated with Arabian, Indian and English designs in combination with all modern comforts. Each room has its own unique decor with many locally originating antique pieces of furniture, magical beds, Persian rugs, colourful silks, etc. The hotel has quickly become one of our favourites if you wish to stay in the centre of Stone Town.

Zanzibar Palace Hotel

There is a lovely homely feel to this place as it is run by the owners, a Dutch couple, Co and Frans. The establishment has all the mod cons you hope for while still ensuring it retains all the charm of a traditional Stone Town accommodation. It has a restaurant with excellent food and a lovely subtle Spa which is a great way to relax after a day of touring this ancient city.

The spacious suites and rooms are all named and completely unique. The decor in each reflects a different aspect of Zanzibar's rich cultural heritage, whether it be Swahili, Arabic or European and each affords different views of Stone Town - the best view being from the open private deck belonging to the suite on the top floor.

All activities in Zanzibar can be organised from Zanzibar Palace, which is conveniently located very centrally. So whether it be a spice tour or colobus monkey spotting in Jozani Forest National Park that interests you, The Zanzibar Palace Hotel is a great base from which to explore the island and the various experiences that it has to offer!

The Zanzibar Palace makes for a great extention at the end of a Tanzania beach stay or combined with a Tanzania safari.

Palace Hotel -- 5. This hotel is a little funky, without the luxury of a larger chain hotel, but it is perfect for Stone Town. The location is away from the tourist area, and away from the road, but in the most interesting parts of Stone Town.

Very nice boutique hotel with friendly staff and very comfortable accommodations. Great location; close to the main tourist destinations, but quieter than the larger hotels. Two nights here was about perfect for exploring Stone Town.

Zanzibar Palace is beautiful and our suite, Arabica, is beautifully positioned at the top of the hotel. The steps may be a challenge for guests with any walking issues but they are well worth the energy.
