236 Hurumzi Hotel - The Facts
Emmerson and Green is arguably the most famous hotel name on Zanzibar which is a great addition to a
Tanzania Safari. For all
Tanzania holidays of years gone by this used to be a must-stay! Since Mr Emmerson and Mr Green separated as business partners, the hotel took on the name 236 Hurumzi, but has maintained its original character and appearance.
It is typically Zanzibari with local decor and finishing’s everywhere. The hotel is built over 4 levels with a maze-like corridor structure. There are various little terraces that look out over the town, which you can find as you walk round this mezzanine style hotel.
There are two types of room categories here. Standard room and suites. They are all different from each other and the standard rooms are much bigger.
There are 2 restaurants to choose from here, the Kidude restaurant and the Tower Top restaurant which is the more famous of the two, for its 360 degrees views of the town.
