Our View

Onsea House is without doubt Arusha’s best value property. The food here gets more thumbs up than anywhere else the country. The location, rooms and service are excellent making the most appropriate one or two night stop in Arusha. Onsea is owner run and because of this and the welcoming lodge layout, you feel very much at home. There are other places to stay in Arusha but nowhere has received such repeatedly good feedback. If you do want the luxuries of a top end lodge then look at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, but this is a great money saver.

Onsea is located on the eastern boundary of Arusha, about 25 minutes from the airport and 40 minutes from Kilimanjaro airport. This great location allows for a lovely traditional setting, superb links to all Tanzanian safaris and great sunsets.

The main area of Onsea House is built on two levels, with an indoor bar and pool table being in a large room on one side with a large stair case leading up the first floor. At the top there is a welcoming reception room with a few sofas and small bar. Adjoining this is huge L-shaped veranda where amazing evening meals are enjoyed. There are also comfy arm chairs and coffee tables where one can enjoy some peace and quiet playing a board game or reading a book.

Above this, at the back of the house, is a Jacuzzi and small spa area which can be used privately. There is also a small play area for children.

Down by the entrance is a country lane, which is you cross over, leads to another property which houses the swimming pool and a separate garden cottage.

There are two rooms up in the main house and two down in the garden cottage. All the rooms are different. They have quality finishing to them and the bathrooms are stocked with fine products. It is often necessary to stop off in Arusha during your Tanzanian safari holiday and Onsea provides the perfect place.
