Machweo Retreat - The Facts
Machweo retreat is located on the outskirts of Arusha, about 25 minutes from the airport and about 40 minutes from Kilimanjaro airport. Being located on the outskirts of Arusha it allows for a lovely rural and traditional stay. Mainly used for a 1 night stop over to start your
Tanzania safari, its location is perfect.
The main area with the restaurant and bar has a cosy atmosphere. The restaurant is what really puts this place above the rest. Axel, the chef, has made such a name for the food here that people stay just for the food!
The main building houses three double honeymoon suites with lovely bathrooms consisting of large bathtubs and walk-in showers. The six private cottages are equally as amazing and have a separate living area. All the rooms are furnished with double king size four poster beds, flat screens, satellite TV, Wifi and a minibar. There is also a balcony with great views and you can also dine privately here.
All Arusha activities can be arranged from the reception. Trips to the local markets, museums,
Arusha National Park and visiting the coffee plantations.
