Tarangire Treetops run by Elewana, a trusted safari operator with some of Tanzania’s top properties in their portfolio. The camp itself is amazing. The rooms, the layout, the views. It’s an ideal setting for a safari camp and the quality of the product really shines through. But the only drawback is that the camp is located outside the park. This isn’t the most appropriate of locations when there are some excellent properties inside the park. Our first choice property here is Olivers Camp, then Swala which are both in the park, and Tarangire Treetops would next.
Tarangire Treetops Lodge - The Facts
Treetops is located just outside the Tarangire National Park, just on the north-eastern boundary. Tarangire is in Northern Tanzania and famous for its amazing Baobab tree population and elephant migration. The lodge is a two hour drive from the Manyara airstrip or an hour from the Kuro airstrip which is in Tarangire itself. But this drive is part of your
Tanzania safari!
The main lodge is extremely impressive! Built around an old Baobab tree, the open plan living area is spacious and extremely welcoming. The structure is almost entirely built out of wood and raised slightly above the ground. There is a central living area building in the flooring and below the ground level, with pillows and sofas to relax in. There is a fancy bar and dining area that look out to the pool which face the park. Being raised and built on a natural rise in the earth, you get good views.
The rooms are equally as impressive. These are raised quite high with access up a spiral staircase through a trap door. They are very large with open plan bathrooms, massive beds and panoramic views out over the park. Each has a private balcony with chairs and a table.
Tarangire offers night drives, walking
Tarangire safaris, fly camping and day time game drives.
